Today a default judgment was entered into against CBS Corporation and its 60 Minutes II division based on a complaint filed the 9th day of May, 2000. The causes of actions are based partly on the following agreement verbally made by CBS Janet Klein to David Korem and the Dominion of Melchizedek which in substance promised: 1. CBS has no intention of using itself as a platform to discredit, belittle, disparage, slander, libel, undermine the credibility of, or in any way harm the reputation of DOM or any of its officials, founders or citizens. 2. CBSs only intention is to present a fair and balanced account of DOM for the viewing public, so that the public can reach its own unbiased conclusion as to what DOM is, and what its purposes are, and what its future may be. 3. CBS has no other agenda, and has not been influenced by anyone outside of CBS to do a story on DOM, nor to attempt to discredit DOM in any way. 4. The CBS production(s) about DOM will not attempt to lead the public to believe in any way that DOM does not exist nor will it lead its viewers to believe that DOM is a fraud, fake, phony, spurious, dangerous or otherwise illegal in any way. 5. Should CBS interview third parties or detractors regarding DOM, before airing or printing those opinions, comments, or statements for public consumption, DOM will be given a fair opportunity to respond to those detractors statements, so that DOM can give CBS an opportunity to see both sides of the opinion or statement presented. Any counteracting information given by DOM will be also published in immediate order after airing or printing the detractors comments. DOM will also be given an opportunity to present CBS with additional questions to be posed by CBS to the detractors so that the detractors themselves will have an opportunity to clarify those issues and their answers will be aired to those questions posed by DOM. 6. CBS will not put words in your mouth or DOMs officials, or citizens. In other words, CBS will not tape record yourself (Korem), DOMs officials or citizens making one statement to a question and then recording a different question to make it look like the new question was being answered when in fact the answer was to a different question. As promised verbally by CBS 60 Minutes producer Janet Klein at Belmont, California. As a result of breach of this agreement a COMPLAINT was FILED the 9TH DAY OF MAY, 2000 IN THE SUPREME COURT OF THE Dominion of Melchizedek AND SERVED BY FAX TO THE DEFENDANTS BY Tzemach David Netzer Korem, AND THE Dominion of Melchizedek, ON BEHALF OF ITS OFFICIALS, MINISTERS, CITIZENS, CORPORATE AND INDIVIDUAL, Plaintiffs Against Janet Klein, The court found that: Melchizedek, et al made a demand for retraction of the false statements that 60 Minutes II made on behalf of CBS through Bob Simon, and for the (CBS) airing a new combination of interviews that CBS had accumulated that would truly be fair, balanced and factual. Also, there was a demand to CBS through Janet Klein that its web site be corrected to eliminate false statements made by CBS and Simon. CBS promised fair and balanced. CBS, through Janet Klein also assured Tzemach David Netzer Korem, that Janet Klein writes the script so the content is under her control, but she after the damage was done, stated that Tzemach David Netzer Korem should complain to Bob Simon for what he said and that someone above Janet Klein cut out the positive parts that would have balanced the program. Janet Klein was instructed to pass the demand along to Simon and CBS legal department. Janet Klein started her program through the voice of Bob Simon calling Korem a self-declared prophet when in fact Korem has never claimed to be a prophet. This was malicious on CBSs part, and as it is known in religious circles, and others, this false statement by Simon immediately discredited Korem in the eyes of the majority of the CBS viewers. When interviewed by Simon, Simon asked Korem if he is a prophet, and his answer was, I try to avoid making any predictions about the future. CBSs argument that the chief spokesman of an organization is a prophet according to the dictionary does not satisfy the complaint. Melchizedek demanded a retraction wherein CBS publicly on its web site and on a 60 Minutes II follow-up make plain that Korem is not a self-declared prophet, by stating that 60 Minutes II falsely claimed that David Korem is a self-declared prophet. Melchizedek, et al demanded a retraction on the CBS statement that Bob Simon made where he said, non-existent Dominion. The Dominion of Melchizedek certainly does exist, and the majority of CBS viewers would not be able to come to a different conclusion unless they did a considerable amount of due diligence to determine otherwise. This and other similar false statements made by CBS through Simon via Janet Kleins writings are harmful and damaging to Korem, DOM, its ministers, officials, citizens, corporate and individual. One of the ways that CBS failed to accomplish fair and balanced but instead accomplished libel, was by having Bob Simon falsely confirming that the passports, incorporations and bonds of the Dominion of Melchizedek are phony and worthless. It was one thing to allow interviewee John Shockey to make those kinds of statements as his opinion, but for Bob Simon to make them as a matter of fact, it put Janet Klein, Simon and CBS in a position of libel and subject to certain liabilities to Melchizedek. In order for CBS to proclaim that the bonds issued by the government of DOM are worthless, CBS would need to first prove that DOM has actually defaulted on any single bond that it has issued. Or that it has been proven that DOM does not have sufficient funds to pay outstanding bonds that will mature in the future. Before that, CBS needs to prove that the DOM has in fact issued any bonds. The fact that the DOM passports, which CBS had evidence of, have been accepted in dozens of countries, gives value to them. Also, the fact that DOM has been receiving licensing fees for 10 years from DOM banks is proof that those licenses have a monetary value, and revenues to back up any bonds, should any have been issued. Furthermore, Klein promised Korem that CBS would give him the opportunity to answer any questions that arose from negative statements made by others, which CBS failed to do, especially on the case of worthless. To make it fair, CBS should have asked Shockey questions as hard as the ones that CBS asked Korem. For example, Where has the DOM ever claimed to be a country, and have you read the Melchizedek Bible. And, what specific criminal laws has David Korem broken and what evidence do you have to support such an opinion? And, are you a lawyer? And what expertise do you have defining and dealing with an ecclesiastical sovereignty. Another false impression that CBS gave its viewers is that DOM is under water. CBS had plenty of information to confirm that Taongi is above water and leased to DOM for 50 years, yet DOM is not an island, but an ecclesiastical sovereignty with interests in certain islands, so it could never be under water. CBS also knew these facts, and had extensive interviews dealing with the always above-water, Taongi. The manner in which Klein wrote the program, made it look like it was the DOM, when in fact the subject was Karitane Island in the South Pacific regarding high tide, grossly misleading the CBS viewers. Korem specifically complained to Klein that NBC had accomplished the same falsehood but Klein assured Korem if he agree to the interview that that misconception could be cleared up with the giant audience of CBS and that CBS wouldnt create that false impression about Melchizedek. This promise of Klein to avoid giving the false impression that DOM was under water was one of the reasons that Korem agreed to the interview with CBS. It is clear that CBS intention from the outset was to entertain its viewers at the expense of Melchizedek and give the impression that DOM is nothing but an outrageous scam without any real substance. CBS speculation that Korem agreed to be interviewed by CBS because he imagined there might be one or two con men in the vast audience of 60 minutes wanting to set up shop in DOM was malicious at worst and harmful at least. The fact is that when Klein asked Korem if he would be interviewed, Korem told Klein that he would be willing because it could be an opportunity to bring the Melchizedek message of its mission to usher in the millennium of peace and righteousness to a larger public. Therefore Klein knew the reason that Korem agreed to be interviewed, but instead invented a phony impression of a reason, leading the CBS viewers to the false impression that Korem was seeking con men to associate with. The primary foundational document of DOM is the Melchizedek Bible, which CBS failed to mention. In every profile issued by DOM from 1990 till the present, it is mentioned in the opening lines that DOM is based on the principles of the Melchizedek Bible. The fact that Korems father died in prison writing the Melchizedek Bible is more relevant than the wild speculation by Edwin Tomco and Shockey that Korems father faked his death. The Bible teaches that the most valuable asset a person possesses is his good name, which CBS has maliciously conspired to harm. CBSs claim that the U.S. state department stated that D.O.M. is a fraud, should not have failed to show a person from the state department making such statement. CBS could not provide the name of the person that made the libelous statement at the State Department, his or her title there and if that was his or her personal opinion or is that the official position of the US State Department. Therefore this court, is forced to assume that CBS invented it. This same principle applies the line that Department of Justice may be investigating DOM, when in fact no such evidence exists. Also, CBS failed to prove if the alleged statement was actually made about an investigation.. Another misleading aspect of the CBS program about Melchizedek aired in April of 2000 was that it failed to mention that the program was produced and filmed more than a year earlier before airing. The Orange Country fire station had nothing to do with Reynolds insurance company. Reynolds certainly did NOT sell a bond issued by DOM. Furthermore, there is a big difference between a bond issued by DOM and one issued by a corporation incorporated under the laws of DOM. CBS falsely had Simon announce that the fire related bond was issued by DOM. CBS stated that Reynolds is serving a 3 year sentence in Federal prison for selling $40,000,000 worth of insurance from a DOM insurance company. However, his plea bargain in no way mentioned DOM. In fact, the underlying counts in the indictment against Reynolds were for activities that took place after his insurance company re-incorporated from DOM to Aruba, therefore CBS should have made a retraction correcting the false impression that it gave regarding these facts. CBS had video and voice of many witnesses, including the Paramount Chief of Taongi, Iroijlaplap Remios Hermios on the side of DOM but it only quoted Korem, yet it quoted several against DOM and Korem. That is hardly the fair and balanced promised by CBS. The CBS 60 Minutes II program, including the CBS web site summarizing its coverage of Melchizedek declared that Rosemont is an Ambassador of DOM, which is not true and was not true at the time filmed or aired the Melchizedek story. Klein had Simon ask Korem if Reynolds was D.O.Ms Secretary of Commerce and Korem asked for evidence from CBS to support such an allegation, yet Klein had Simon state that he was such and withheld Korems answer. CBS falsely stated that the DOM Minister of Justice was arrested in the Philippines, yet Melchizedeks Minister of Justice was never arrested. Furthermore, the man CBS falsely showed in the picture, Mr. Mason-Parker as the DOM Minister of Justice was not arrested for extortion, as CBS falsely stated, but rather for overstaying his visa. CBS had Korems response on film that would have vindicated DOM, since there were no victims found to testify again Mason-Parker and he was released after a complete investigation revealed none. Melchizedek properly demanded that each and every false statement made by Klein and CBS through Bob Simon be retracted by Klein and CBS. Melchizedek also demand that as a part of CBSs retraction it produce the fair and balanced program that Klein promised on behalf of CBS, which Melchizedek followed up by a legal complaint for specific performance and libel. Libel occurs when a false and defamatory statement about an identifiable person is
published to a third party, causing injury to the subject's reputation. Since CBS did not respond to Melchizedeks complaint within 30 days of service, according to the local rules of civil procedure, the court hereby enters a default judgment in favor of the government of the Dominion of Melchizedek for $1,000,000,000 against the CBS Corporation and its 60 Minutes II division. Judgment was entered on 25th day of July, 2000.
