THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
Matthew 19 Matthew 19
When Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and arrived at the coasts of Judea beyond Jordan^. 1 And it came to pass, [that] when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
Now a large multitude of people followed him, so he healed them there^. 2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
Pharisees also came to test him, asking, "Can a man lawfully divorce his wife regardless of the reason^?" 3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
Answering them he said, "Have you not read that Elohim revealed man's rudiments as both male and female," 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made [them] at the beginning made them male and female,
He added, "For this reason will a man leave his father and mother, and will cleave to his wife, and the two will be as one? 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
"Wherefore they no longer are two, but like one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, man should not separate." 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
They replied to him, "Why did Moses then command that a divorce must be in writing before rejecting one's wife^?" 7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
Then he answered them, "Because of your spiritual dullness, Moses suffered you to divorce your wives, but according to your rudiments in Principle, it is not so. 8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
"And I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries one who is divorced, commits adultery." 9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except [it be] for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
His disciples said to him, "If marriage is like that, then it is not wise to marry." 10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with [his] wife, it is not good to marry.
But he told them, "All men cannot accept this teaching, except those who are spiritually gifted. 11 But he said unto them, All [men] cannot receive this saying, save [they] to whom it is given.
"For some are eunuchs because that is the way they were born; and others were made eunuchs by men; and still others are eunuchs for the reign of righteous harmony. If anyone is able to accept this teaching, let it be accepted." 12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from [their] mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive [it], let him receive [it].
Then little children were brought to him that he should rest his spiritual power on them, and pray for them, but the disciples stopped them. 13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put [his] hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
Thereupon Jesus declared, "Allow the little children to come to me and do not hinder them, for the reign of harmony belongs to them." 14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Then his spiritual power rested upon them, and he departed thence. 15 And he laid [his] hands on them, and departed thence.
And, behold, one came and said to him, "Good teacher, what particular objective should I achieve, that I may enjoy eternal life?" 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Responding to him, Jesus said, "Why do you call me good? There is none good but one, that is, God; but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments." 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
He replied, asking, "Which?" Jesus said, "You must not commit murder; you must not commit adultery; you must not steal; you must not bear false witness, 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
"Honor your father and mother; and, love your neighbor as though your neighbor were yourself." 19 Honour thy father and [thy] mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
The young man assured him, "All these things have I kept since my youth. What more do I lack?" 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Jesus answered him, "If you will be perfect, go and sell what you have in earthly riches, and therewith do good deeds, enriching the poor side; then you will have spiritual treasure, and come and follow me." 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.
But when the young man heard that advice, he went away sorrowful, because his material accumulation was great. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Then Jesus instructed his disciples, saying, "Verily I tell you, that it is difficult for a man rich in material things to surrender to the reign of Spirit. 23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
"And furthermore I tell you, that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a man rich in property to surrender to the reign of God." 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
When his disciples heard it, they were quite astonished, asking, "Who then can be saved?" 25 When his disciples heard [it], they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
While looking directly at them, Jesus said, "With flesh this is impossible, but by turning to God, all things are possible." 26 But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Then Peter inquired, saying to him, "Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed you; what will we gain thereby?" 27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
Jesus declared to them, "Verily I tell you, that you who have followed me to where divine law appears to human understanding, which law gloriously enthrones the Son of man, so you will also be enthroned to scientifically judge 'all human systems of etiology and teleology^.' 28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
"Now everyone that has forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or property, for the infinite I-am will receive spiritual enrichment and inherit everlasting life. 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
"And many that perceive 'the first, the only man^,' will reach the last of Adam; and the last of Adam will be the first of the only true man^." 30 But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last [shall be] first.
