THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
Matthew 18 Matthew 18
At that time the disciples came to Jesus, asking, "Who is the greatest in harmonious sovereignty^?" 1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
Thereupon Jesus called a little child to him, and placed him before them^. 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
Saying, "Verily I tell you, except your arrogant pride be converted, and your attitude become like the little children, you will not enter the harmony of God's sovereignty^. 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
"Whoever therefore will be as humble as this little child, the same is great in God's kingdom^. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
"And whoever embraces such a one as this little child, embraces my nature^. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
"But whoever interferes with any of these little ones' devotion to me, it would have been better for whoever does such a thing if a great millstone had been hanged about his or her neck, and then the same had been drowned in the sea^. 6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
"Woe to the world because of betrayals! Because it needs to be that betrayals come, but woe to the one by whom the betrayal comes^! 7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
"Moreover, if your 'most cherished beliefs and practices^' negate the divine selfhood, set them aside and cast them away; it is better for you to enter into life physically handicapped, rather than to have a carnally based state of thought which leads to oblivion^. 8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast [them] from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
"And if your physical view negates divine understanding, reverse it to remove its appearance away from you; it is better for you to enter into life with singleness of discernment, rather than to suffer the oblivion of duplicity^. 9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
"Take heed that you do not deprecate one of these little ones, for I tell you, that spiritually their thoughts always behold the features of my all-harmonious Principle^. 10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
"For the Son of man will recover that which was lost^. 11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
"What do you think? If a man has an hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine, and go into the mountains to seek that which has gone astray^? 12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
"If he finds it, verily I tell you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine which did not go astray^. 13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
"Even so, it is not the will of your all-harmonious Principle that one of these little ones should be harmed^. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
"Moreover, if your companion trespasses, point out that one's fault privately; if that individual profits from your rebuke, you have brought back your companion by grace. 15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
"But if your correction is not heeded, then take one or two or more people with you, that by the word of two or three witnesses every matter may be established. 16 But if he will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
"But if that person will not listen to them, bring the matter before the recognized moral authority; and if that one remains unpersuaded there, let it be to you as an heathen person and an apostate. 17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell [it] unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
"Verily I tell you, whatever you desire to forbid in earthly events must be forbidden by Spirit, and whatever you wish to allow in earthly events must be allowed by Spirit. 18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
"Accordingly, I tell you that if two of you are in unity to 'work out the spiritual^' as to anything that may be asked, the 'outward and actual^' will be determined by my all-harmonious Principle. 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
"For where two or three are in unity in my nature, there the all-inclusive I-am coincides with them." 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Then came Peter to him, asking, "Lord, how often can my brother act against me, and must I continue to forgive him, till seven times?" 21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Jesus replied to him, "I tell you, do not think of simple and measured forgiveness but think of absolute and complete forgiveness. 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
"Therefore the righteous reign of harmony is like a certain king, which began to settle the accounts of his servants. 23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
"And as he begun the settlements, one was brought to him which owed him a fortune. 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
"But since he could not pay, his king commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and his children, and all that he had, so that the payment could be made. 25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
"Thereupon the servant fell down, prostrating himself, and begged, 'O king, have patience with me and I will pay you all.' 26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
"Then the servant's king had compassion for him and released him, forgiving his debt. 27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
"But the same servant went out and found one of his fellow servants, which owed him a trifling amount, and he laid his hands on him, and took him by the throat, demanding, 'Pay me back what you owe me!.' 28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took [him] by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
"His fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, pleading, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.' 29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
"But he refused and had him thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
"So when his fellow servants saw what happened, they were very grieved, and upon coming to the king, they related all that took place. 31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
"Then the king, after he summoned him, declared, 'O you wicked servant, I forgave all your debt, because you importuned me to do so. 32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
"'Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, even as I had pity for you?' 33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
"Now the king became angry, and delivered him to be tormented, until he should pay all that was due to him. 34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
"So likewise will my harmonious, parental Principle also treat you, if, from your hearts, you do not forgive everyone's trespasses". 35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
