THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
Matthew 11 Matthew 11
After Jesus finished teaching his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and preach in their towns. 1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
When John had heard in prison of the effect of Christ, Truth, he sent two of his disciples^, 2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
And they asked Jesus, "Are you the one to fulfill prophesy, or should we look for another^?" 3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
Jesus answered them, saying, "Go and show John again those things which you do hear about and personally see^; 4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
"The blind do see, the lame walk, and those having leprosy are healed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up from death, and those who quiet animality discern the gospel when it is preached to them^. 5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
"And blessed is the one who will not deny that these effects prove my unity with God^." 6 And blessed is [he], whosoever shall not be offended in me.
As John's disciples were departing, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, "What did you go out to the loneliness^ of human goodness to discern^? A personality? 7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
"But, what did you expect to see? A man clothed in the excesses of carnal achievement? Behold, those men are in tyrants' thrones^. 8 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft [clothing] are in kings' houses.
"But, what did you crave to see? A prophet? Yes! I tell you, more than a prophet^! 9 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.
"For he stands as the one of whom it is written: Behold, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare the way for you^. 10 For this is [he], of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
"Verily, I tell you, among those that are born of the flesh, there has not been one closer to Spirit than John the Baptist, notwithstanding the one that is least in spiritual understanding is stronger than the one highest in moral law^. 11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the advent of divine understanding endures chemicalization, but the carnal mind attempts to seize the kingdom by manipulation^. 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
"For all the prophets and the moral law prepared the way for John^. 13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
"And if you will understand it, this is Elias, which must precede divine Science^. 14 And if ye will receive [it], this is Elias, which was for to come.
"The one that has perception, let that one perceive^. 15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
"But to what can I compare this generation? It is like the childish Pharisees and scribes game-playing in the markets, and calling unto their fellows^. 16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
"Speaking of their emptiness, they say, 'We have played the flute for you and you did not dance, we have mourned for you and you did not cry^.' 17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
"For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He is a demon^.' 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
"The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners.' But wisdom is justified by its practitioners^." 19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
Then he began to upbraid the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not change their way of thinking^. 20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
"Woe unto you, Chorazin! woe unto you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have changed their way of thinking long ago due to perished joy and sorrow^. 21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
"But I say unto you, 'It will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in light of wisdom's judgment, than for you^.' 22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
"And Capernaum, which could have been exalted by divine power, will be brought down to desolation, for if the mighty works, which have been done there, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day^. 23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
"But I tell you, 'That it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in light of wisdom's judgment, than for Capernaum^.'" 24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
At that time Jesus declared, "I thank you, O God, Principle of both cause and effect, because you have hidden these truths from the wise and manipulative and have revealed them to those whose hearts are ready^. 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
"Even so, O Almighty, it is for goodness^. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
"All things are delivered to me through God's Science; now no one knows the spiritual offspring, except the parental Principle; neither does anyone know the parental Principle except the Child, and the one to whom the Child will reveal it^. 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and [he] to whomsoever the Son will reveal [him].
"Come to me, all that toil and are heavily laden with sin, and the almighty I-am will give you restful renewal^. 28 Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of my nature - the true nature of God's child; for in honor of the almighty I-am, we must be meek and eschew any belief in a separate self-existence of our own; thereby we will find rest with our spiritual sense^. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
"For my yoke is easy and my burden is but an illusion^." 30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.
