THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
Matthew 5 Matthew 5
When seeing the multitudes, he scaled the heights of Mind; and when he was set, his disciples came to him. 1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
Accordingly, he shared his insight with them and taught them: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
"Blessed are those lacking in carnal beliefs, for sovereign harmony is theirs. 3 Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are they that mourn, for they will find nothing over which to mourn. 4 Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the all-inclusive I-am. 5 Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be satisfied with divine Science. 6 Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
"Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain merciful justice. 7 Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
"Blessed are the pure in thought, for they will discern divine Science. 8 Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
"Blessed are those who are in unity, for they will be called the children of God. 9 Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for sovereign harmony is theirs. 10 Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are you who adhere to divine Science, because people will revile you, and persecute you, and malpractice against you, 11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
"Yet rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, because greatly are you rewarded with sovereign harmony, as those metaphysicians who proceeded you were likewise persecuted. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
"You are the zest of the earth, but if the zest has lost its zeal, wherewith can it bring devotion? It is henceforth good for nothing, to be forgotten and serves for nothing. 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
"You are the light of the world. Thoughts dwelling on high cannot be hidden. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
"Neither do people light a candle and place it beneath a bowl; rather, they place it on a stand so that it will give light to the entire house. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
"Therefore, let your enlightenment shine before others so that they may discern your good works and glorify your harmonious Principle. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
"Think not that the almighty I-am comes to abolish the law or the teachings of the prophets; the omnipotent I-am comes to you not to destroy, but to reverse and to fulfill. 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
"For truly I advise you, as the nothingness of carnality is demonstrated, not the slightest breach can take place in moral law; thereby perfection is fulfilled. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
"Therefore, whoever breaks even the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do so, that one knows least of the sovereign harmony of Spirit; but whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will greatly enjoy the harmonious sovereignty of Spirit. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
"You must know that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the lawyers and government clerks, you cannot, in any way, enter into sovereign harmony with God. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
"You do know that the ancients commanded: Do not kill, and whoever kills will be in grave jeopardy. 21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
"But I tell you that whoever directs malice at anyone is in perilous danger of forfeiting their own enlightenment, and whoever says that anyone lacks intelligence will find that liability upon themselves, but whoever will declare anyone to be a wicked and godless fool reaps the reward of heathen idolatry. 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
"Therefore if you present yourself before Spirit's elevated standard, but remember that your brother has a matter against you, 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
"Leave Spirit's standard and go your way; first reconcile with your brother, and then present yourself before Spirit. 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
"Make peace with your adversaries quickly before they strengthen their claims against you, lest your adversaries deliver you to their justice, and their justice delivers you to their officers, and then you are liable to surrender to their claims. 25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
"Truly you will not come out from their claims until you have paid the final 'penalty demanded by error^.'" 26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
"You have heard that you must not commit adultery. 27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
"But I say to you, that whoever looks upon a forbidden object with lustful purpose has already committed adultery. 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
"If your 'most cherished beliefs and practices^' negate the infinite I-am, you must set them aside, for it is better that your established convictions dissolve into their 'native nothingness^' rather than bring your entire spiritual career into oblivion. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.
"And if the most cherished belief inhibits your spiritual progress, set it aside, for it is profitable to lose carnal convictions rather than to toss the full range of your spiritual prospects into oblivion. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.
"It has been said, anyone who divorces his wife needs to do it in writing. 31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
"But I tell you, that whoever will divorce his wife, except for unfaithfulness, causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
"Again, you have heard from the ancients: You must not perjure yourself, because your allegiance belongs to God. 33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
"But I tell you, take no oath at all, neither by noumenon, for thereby God has jurisdiction. 34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
"Nor by phenomenon, for that is God's manifestation, neither by Jerusalem for it is the city of Melchizedek. 35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
"Neither upon yourself, for you may not distinguish between positive Truth and its negation. 36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
"But let your communion be either affirmation or denial, for whatsoever is more than this is derived from evil. 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
"You have heard it said: An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. 38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
"But I say to you, do not fight against an evil attack, for whoever attacks you on your dominate side, turn to that one your reflected side. 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
"If anyone will sue you at the law, and take away your inner peace, give him your outward possessions also. 40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have [thy] cloke also.
"If you become obliged to serve another, serve twice as much as requested. 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
"Contribute to the one that asks and turn not away the one that would borrow from you. 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
"You have heard it said: You must love your neighbor, but you may hate your enemy. 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless them that attempt to harm you, return good to those who direct malice against you, and pray for them which manipulate and persecute you, 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
"That you may be the offspring of all-harmonious God, for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
"For if you only love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even government clerks do that? 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
"And if you greet your brethren only, in what way are you doing more than others? Do not even the government clerks do likewise? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so?
"Therefore be perfect, even as your harmonious Principle is perfect." 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
