| THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE | KING JAMES VERSION |
| Matthew 1 | Matthew 1 |
| 1 This is the book of the record of Jesus the Christ, of the line of David and progeny of Abraham. | 1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. |
| 2 Now following the line of light, Abraham led his son Isaac to enlightenment, and Isaac his son Jacob, and Jacob his son Judas and his eleven brothers. | 2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren; |
| 3 And continuing through the generations, the word of light followed Judas' son Phares (whose brother was Zara) by Thamar, and Phares' son Esrom, and from Esrom to his son Aram; | 3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram; |
| 4 Thereafter to Aminadab the son of Esrom, and then Aminadab's son Naasson; and Naasson's son Salmon; | 4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon; |
| 5 And Salmon's son Booz by Rachab; and Booz' son Obed by Ruth; and Obed's son Jesse; | 5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; |
| 6 The immortal line of light appeared through the generations reaching to David the king and son of Jesse; and continued with David's son Solomon by the woman who had been wife to Urias; | 6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Urias; |
| 7 And then onward to Solomon's son Roboam; and Roboam's son Abia; and Abia's son Asa; | 7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa; |
| 8 And Asa's son Josaphat; and Josaphat's son Joram; and Joram's son Ozias; | 8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias; |
| 9 And Ozias' son Joatham; and Joatham's son Achaz; and Achaz' son Ezekias; | 9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias; |
| 10 And Ezekias' son Manasses; and Manasses' son Amon; and Amon's son Josias; | 10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias; |
| 11 And Josias' son Jechonias (at the time the descendants of Judah were carried away to Babylon); | 11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon: |
| 12 And after they were removed to Babylon, Jechonias' fathered Salathiel who carried on the line of light; and thereafter Salathiel's son Zorobabel; | 12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel; |
| 13 And Zorobabel's son Abiud; and Abiud's son Eliakim; and Eliakim's son Azor; | 13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor; |
| 14 And Azor's son Sadoc; and Sadoc's son Achim; and Achim's son Eliud; | 14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud; |
| 15 And Eliud's son Eleazar; and Eleazar's son Matthan; and Matthan's son Jacob; | 15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob; |
| 16 And Jacob's son Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. | 16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. |
| 17 Now there are fourteen generations from Abraham to David; and fourteen generations from David to their removal to Babylon; and from that time to the advent of Jesus are fourteen generations. | 17 So all the generations from Abraham to David [are] fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon [are] fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ [are] fourteen generations. |
| 18 Now the advent of Jesus the Christ was according to this: When his mother was betrothed to Joseph, she was found with child, immaculately perceived as the offspring of scientific Being. | 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. |
| 19 Then Joseph, being motivated by goodness, had in mind to divorce her privately and avoid a public disgrace. | 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just [man], and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. |
| 20 But while he pondered the matter, a higher logic came to him which revealed the dream of the senses, namely: "Joseph, you are the son of David; fear not to take unto you Mary your wife, for that which signaled^ her perception is an issue of scientific Being. | 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. |
| 21 "And she will bring forth an immaculate idea which you will call Jesus^; for he will save his people from their errors." | 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. |
| 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet Isaiah, | 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, |
| 23 "Behold a young woman will perceive God's own immaculate child, bringing forth a son, and they will call his nature Emmanuel, which, being interpreted, means 'God with us.'" | 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. |
| 24 Then Joseph, being aroused out of mesmeric sleep, did as God had directed him and took Mary as his wife. | 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: |
| 25 But he knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son, and he called his nature Savior, or Jesus. | 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. |
