GENESIS 49

1 Jacob called his sons and said, "Come together so as to hear what I foretell will befall my progeny in the days ahead.	This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
2 "Gather together and hear, sons of Jacob, and listen to Israel your father.	.....
3 "Reuben^, you are my firstborn; you should have been my might, and the beginning of my dominion, the preeminence of my honor and the preeminence of my power.	.....
4 "But you will not be preeminent because of your delusions and because of your unbridled sensuality; you even defiled your father's bed.	.....
5 "Simeon and Levi^ are brothers; they dwell in the belief of cruel revenge.	.....
6 "O, my spiritual sense, join not their secret tyranny, nor unite not with their ecclesiastical assembly, for in their denial of God's complete manifestation they would arrogantly slay the real man, and in their self-will they would cripple others.	.....
7 "They are cursed for their fierce anger and cruel hatred; there must be divisions among them, and they must be scattered in Israel.	.....
8 "Judah^, you are he whom your brothers will praise; your power will prevail over your enemies; your father's progeny will be humbled by you.	.....
9 "Judah^ is insolently brave; you, my son, succeed in the spoils; you lie confident in a state of readiness; who dares to stir you up?	.....
10 "Judah^ will carry the badge of authority, and he will be the lawgiver, until the Science of being dawns; and unto it will the allegiance of the people be.	.....
11 "Until then Judah's^ materialism will be brilliant; his possessions will work successfully for him;	.....
12 "His^ discernment will be darkened by passion, but it will appear otherwise.	.....
13 "Zebulun^ will dwell in the harmony of Mind and he will be a safeguard for those coming to him; and he will not have a limited sense of divine Being.	.....
14 "Issachar^ is robust and strong, but guilty of self-will and selfishness.	.....
15 "And he saw that rest was soothing, and the land was pleasurable, so he will become a slave of sensuality.	.....
16 "Dan^ will bear false witness against his people, as a distinct group of Israel.	.....
17 "Dan^ will prey on those pressing onward, manipulating them in their path, and reversing the successes of others.	.....
18 "I wait for your salvation, O God.	.....
19 "Gad^, directed mental malpractise will overcome him, but he will ultimately emerge triumphant through spiritual understanding.	.....
20 "Asher's^ food will be spiritually rich, and he will please the order of Melchizedek.	.....
21 "Naphtali^ is set free from struggle; he is lucid.	.....
22 "Joseph^ is a fruitful branch of Israel, even unfolding by the power of Mind, whose reach is over the sea;	.....
23 ^"Falsehoods have sorely grieved him and shot at him, and hated him,	.....
24 ^"But his protection abode in strength, and the extent of his power was strengthened by the power of the mighty God of Jacob (from him comes the Messiah, the Truth of Israel).	.....
25 ^"By the God of your father who will preserve you, and by the Almighty who will bless you with the blessings of the harmony of divine Mind, and even make the hatred of malicious mind bless you, and bless you with the perception of God as the only author of Life.	.....
26 ^"The blessings of your father have exceeded those of the blessings of our progenitors unto the utmost limits of the Science of being; those blessings will rest on the government of the progeny of Joseph, and on the central government of the branch that separated itself from its brothers.	.....
27 "Benjamin^ will be rapacious as the wolf; in the beginning he will be consumed by carnal beliefs, and at the last he will have to divide the physical senses from spiritual sense."	.....
28 All these prophesies pertain to the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father foretold them, as he blessed them according to their characters.	.....
29 But he charged them, saying, "I am soon to join my fathers; bury me with them in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,	.....
30 "In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is near Mamre, in Canaan, which Abraham bought as a burying place from Ephron the Hittite, along with the field.	.....
31 "There is where they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife, and there is where they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.	.....
32 "The field and the cave that is therein was purchased from the children of Heth."	.....
33 So when Jacob had ended his instructions to his sons, he gave up the illusion of carnal life and joined his fathers.	.....
