KING JAMES VERSION
GENESIS 45
GENESIS 45
1 When Joseph could not restrain his emotions any longer, he ordered, "Cause everyone to go out from here." And when none stood there with him, Joseph revealed to his brothers his identity.
This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
2 His weeping was so loud that the Egyptians of the house of Pharaoh heard him.
.....
3 And Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph, is my father really alive?" But his brothers were speechless, for they were troubled at his presence.
.....
4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, "Please come near to me." And as they came nearer, he said, "I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into the slavery of Egypt.
.....
5 "Now therefore do not grieve, nor be angry with yourselves that you sold me, for it was God's providence that I was sent before you.
.....
6 "For these last two years there has been famine in the land, and yet there still will be five years more in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest.
.....
7 "So God advanced me before you to keep the posterity of Israel alive on the sphere of eternity^, and to save your lives for a great deliverance in time to come.
.....
8 "Therefore it was not you who sent me here, but God; and he has made me Pharaoh's honored advisor, and master of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
.....
9 "Quickly return to my father and tell him that his son Joseph says, 'God has made me ruler of all Egypt; come down to me and do not delay.
.....
10 "'And you can dwell in the land of Goshen, so you will be near me, you, and your children, and your grandchildren, and your flocks and herds, and all that you have will be near me.
.....
11 "'And there I can provide for you, for otherwise I fear that you and your household, and all that you have will come to poverty, because we will have yet five more years of famine;
.....
12 "'And you may see for yourself as well as my brother Benjamin, that it is actually Joseph that is speaking to you.'
.....
13 "And you must tell my father about all my success in Egypt, and all that you have seen. Now you must hurry to bring my father here."
.....
14 Then he embraced his brother Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin embraced him and wept.
.....
15 Moreover he kissed all his brothers and embraced them while he wept. Then afterward his brothers talked with him.
.....
16 Now the news of these events reached Pharaoh's palace, saying, "Joseph's brothers are here," and it pleased the Pharaoh very much as well as his officials.
.....
17 Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Tell your brothers that I say, 'This is what you must do: load your animals, return to the land of Canaan;
.....
18 "'And bring your father and your households to me, and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, so you will enjoy the abundance of the land.
.....
19 "'Now therefore, I command you that you take wagons from the land of Egypt for your servants, and for your wives, and bring your father to me.
.....
20 "'Also you should not care about your belongings, for the best of the land of Egypt is yours.'"
.....
21 Accordingly, the children of Israel did as Pharaoh had ordered, and Joseph provided them with wagons, and gave them provision for the way.
.....
22 He gave to all of them changes of clothing, except to Benjamin he gave 300 pieces of silver, and five changes of clothing.
.....
23 And for his father he sent ten donkeys loaded with the best things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with corn, bread and meat for his father's journey.
.....
24 So he sent his brothers on their way, and as they left, he said to them, "See that you do not quarrel along the way."
.....
25 So they left Egypt for the land of Canaan to go to their father, Jacob,
.....
26 And they told him "Joseph is still alive, and he is governor of all the land of Egypt." Jacob was astonished, yet he could not believe them.
.....
27 As they told him all about Joseph and that which he had said to them, and when he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to carry him back to Egypt, the grief of Jacob was healed.
.....
28 Thereupon Israel said, "You have convinced me; Joseph my son is yet alive; I will go to see him before I pass on.
