THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
GENESIS 43 GENESIS 43

The famine was bitter in the land. This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
And when they had consumed the food which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said to them, "Return to buy us a little more food." .....
But Judah advised him, saying, "The man solemnly affirmed to us, saying, 'You will not see my face unless you are with your youngest brother.' .....
"If you will send our brother with us, we can then go down to buy food for you, .....
"But if you will not send him with us, we need not go down, for the man said to us, 'You cannot see my face without bringing your youngest brother with you.'" .....
Then Israel said, "Why did you deal with me so cruelly as to tell the man that you had yet another brother?" .....
They replied, "The man asked us directly of our status and of our family, saying, 'Is your father alive? Do you have another brother?' We answered him according to the tener of these questions; how could we anticipate that he would say that we must bring our brother down?" .....
And Judah said, "Send the lad with me and we will leave now so that he and you may survive and not perish, and also our household. .....
"I will guarantee sure return; you can hold me personally responsible if I do not bring him back to you and place him before you, then I will bear the blame forever. .....
"Except for the fact that we have lingered, we would certainly have returned a second time." .....
Then their father, Israel, said to them, "If it must be so, now do this: take of the best fruits of the land in your sacks, and take a gift to the man, some balsam and some grape honey, spices and myrrh, nuts and almonds. .....
"And take twice the money with you, perhaps the money that was found in the mouth of your sacks was an oversight, so take it back with you. .....
"Also you may take your brother; now go to the man, .....
"Let God almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send you back with both your brother and Benjamin. If I am to be bereaved of my children, what will be, will be." .....
So the men took the gifts and twice the money with them, and with Benjamin they went at once down to Egypt to present themselves to Joseph. .....
When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, "Bring these men home, butcher an animal and prepare dinner; these men will dine with me at noon." .....
The man did as Joseph commanded, and they were brought into Joseph's house. .....
But the men were afraid, because they were brought to Joseph's house. Among themselves they said, "We are brought to his house because of the money that was found in our sacks the first time; he may use this event against us to seize us as slaves, and take our animals also." .....
When they approached the steward of Joseph's house, they spoke with him at the door of the house, .....
Saying, "O sir, at the first time we indeed came down to buy food; .....
"And, when arriving at the inn, we opened a sack and saw that money was in the mouth of that sack - the exact amount - and later we found every man's money in his sack, so we have brought it all back with us. .....
"We have also brought more money with us to buy food, we do not know who put our money in our sacks." .....
Then he said, "Be at peace and fear not; your God, and the God of your father, has treasure in store for you; I returned your money." At which he brought out Simeon to them. .....
And the man brought them into Joseph's house, and enabled them to refresh themselves; he also fed their donkeys. .....
Then they prepared their present for Joseph's arrival at noon, for they heard that they were to dine there. .....
When Joseph came home, they gave him the presents which they had prepared for him, and they bowed down to him^. .....
He asked them about their welfare, saying, "You had mentioned your aged father. Is he still alive and well?" .....
They answered, "Your servant and our father is in good health and is still alive." Then they honored him by bowing down their heads. .....
As he looked about, he saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, "Is he your youngest brother about whom you spoke?" And he added, "God be gracious to you, my son." .....
But Joseph quickly left, for his affections yearned for his brother, and seeking where to weep, he entered his chamber to cry there. .....
After he washed his face, he came out keeping control, and said, "Bring out the food." .....
They served him separately, and his brothers separately, and the Egyptians, which did eat with him, separately, because the Egyptians do not eat with Hebrews since it is an abomination to the Egyptians. .....
And they were seated before him according to their ages, from the firstborn to the youngest, and his brothers were amazed. .....
When portions were sent to them from his table, Benjamin's portions were five times as much as any of theirs; and while they ate and drank, they were cheered by him. .....
