THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE
KING JAMES VERSION
GENESIS 35
GENESIS 35
1 The divine Mind revealed to Jacob, "Rise higher in conscious awareness and dwell in Beth-el, consecrated to God, and elevate there your thoughts to God, as he appeared to you when you fled from the presence of your brother Esau."
This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
2 Then Jacob instructed his household and all that were with him, "Put away the idols that are among you and purify yourselves from idolatry;
.....
3 "And let us rise higher in spiritual sense to consecrate ourselves to God at Beth-el; and I will elevate my thought there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and guided me in the way which I have gone."
.....
4 So they gave Jacob all the strange idols and all the earrings which defined their hopes, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem.
.....
5 Then they continued their journey. Since the fear of God fell upon the cities that were in the area around them, the sons of Jacob were not pursued.
.....
6 So Jacob and all the people that were with him arrived at Luz, that is, Beth-el, in the land of Canaan, .
.....
7 He strove to elevate his thinking there, and called the place El-beth-el or God is all-in-all, because there God was revealed to him when he fled from the presence of his brother.
.....
8 Now Deborah, Rebekah's nurse, died, and she was buried beneath Beth-el under an oak, and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth, or weeping over the loss of Life's symbol.
.....
9 When he forsook Padan-aram, again Jacob received a revelation from God and he was blessed by it.
.....
10 So the divine Mind revealed to him, "Your nature was duplicity, or Jacob, but your nature is no longer duplicity, it is Israel, or a prince with God," so it was that he became Israel.
.....
11 Moreover, God revealed to him, "I am God almighty; be fruitful and manifest my power; a nation as an union of states will be patterned after you, after the order of Melchizedek will kings and priests come according to your line of light.
.....
12 "And the state of mind which I gave Abraham and Isaac I will also give to you, and I will provide it to your offspring according to the line of light."
.....
13 So God's thoughts abided over him by the oneness of their revelation to him.
.....
14 And Jacob set up the supporting truths in the oneness of Mind's revelation to him, anointing the experience with inspiration.
.....
15 Then Jacob described the nature of the place: consecration, or Beth-el, where God's revelations appeared to him.
.....
16 Thereafter they journeyed from Beth-el which was not far from Ephrath; and Rachel travailed as she gave birth with very hard labor.
.....
17 And it happened, when her labor was difficult, that her midwife said to her that she must not fear for she would have this son also.
.....
18 As her sense of life was departing (she died), she named him Ben-oni^, but his father named him Benjamin^,
.....
19 After Rachel died, she was buried on their way to increasing fruitfulness, or Ephrath, which is the consciousness of Truth, or Beth-lehem.
.....
20 And Jacob marked the grave of her affliction with the structure of Love, and it remains marked upon the memory of her until now.
.....
21 Then Israel journeyed, spreading his influence beyond the so-called control of Edar.
.....
22 When Israel dwelt in the thinking of that land, Reuben went and lay with Bilhah^, his father's concubine, but Israel heard about it. Now the son's of Jacob were twelve:
.....
23 The sons of Leah were: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.
.....
24 The sons of Rachel were: Joseph and Benjamin.
.....
25 And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid: Dan and Naphtali.
.....
26 And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid: Gad and Asher. These are the sons who were born to Jacob in Padan-aram.
.....
27 Jacob returned to his father, Isaac, in Mamre, near Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac has sojourned.
.....
28 Now Isaac lived until the age of an hundred and eighty years,
.....
29 And being quite advanced in years and full of grace, Isaac gave up the ghostly beliefs of the flesh and died in their sight to join his people who had passed on before him. So his sons Esau and Jacob buried his remains^.
