KING JAMES VERSION
GENESIS 32
GENESIS 32
1 Now Jacob went on his way, encountering the thoughts of God.
This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
2 When Jacob perceived them, he declared, "This is the consciousness of God, and he called the nature of the place Mahanaim, or dwelling place."
.....
3 So Jacob sent messengers before him to meet his brother Esau in the land of Seir, the country of Edom.
.....
4 And he commanded them to speak to his master Esau accordingly, "Your servant Jacob states, 'I have sojourned with Laban staying there until now,
.....
5 "'And I have oxen, and donkeys and flocks, menservants and womenservants, and I have sent messengers to advise you, my master, that I may be received graciously by you.'"
.....
6 So the messengers returned to Jacob, and reported, "We have come back from your brother Esau and he is also coming to meet you with four hundred men."
.....
7 Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed. So he separated the people and the flocks, and herds, and the camels into two camps,
.....
8 Saying, "While Esau will come to the one company to destroy it, then the other company which is left can escape."
.....
9 Yet Jacob prayed, saying, "O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the Lord which revealed to me to return to my country and to my kindred, and the all-inclusive Ego or almighty I-am, deal well with me.
.....
10 "I am not worthy of the least of all the mercy and of all the truth of God, which has been shown me as God's servant; for I passed over this river Jordan with only my staff, and now I return having become two bands.
.....
11 "I pray to be delivered from the power of my brother, from the power of Esau, for I am afraid that he will attack me and the mothers with their children,
.....
12 "And as it had been revealed to me, let the almighty I-am surely protect and benefit my offspring making them as numerous as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered because of its multitude."
.....
13 That very night he dwelt on that prayer. So he chose a present for Esau, his brother, from what he had:
.....
14 Two hundred female goats and twenty male goats, two hundred female sheep and twenty rams,
.....
15 Thirty female camels with their colts, forty cows, and ten bulls, twenty female donkeys and ten foals.
.....
16 And he delivered them under the control of his servants - each drove by itself - saying to them, "Pass ahead of me and keep a space between each drove."
.....
17 Then he commanded the foremost, saying, "When my brother Esau meets you, and if he asks you, 'Whom do you represent, and where are you headed, and to whom do these animals belong?'
.....
18 "Then you are to answer, 'They are from your servant, Jacob. It is a present sent to you, Lord Esau, and furthermore, he is following behind.'"
.....
19 So he commanded the second group, and the third, and all that followed the droves, repeating the manner in which they must address Esau, when they encounter him.
.....
20 Moreover he said to tell him, "Behold, your servant Jacob is following behind us, for he said, 'I will appease Esau with the present that precedes me, and afterward I will perhaps see the expression of my acceptance in his face.'"
.....
21 So he sent the present ahead of him and he dwelt the night in the company of the thoughts of God.
.....
22 That night he continued to scale the heights of Mind. But he sent his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, with their constant murmuring of tempestuous human belief, over the ford Jabbok.
.....
23 And he sent them over the brook with all he had accumulated in worldly beliefs.
.....
24 Then Jacob was alone^, but there wrestled with him the false idea of man until the recognition of it dawned upon him.
.....
25 Yet, while the true idea was failing to dawn upon him, the hollow concept of life as originating in matter^ was touched upon, and the reproductive belief was not in accord with the true idea of man's origin as he wrestled with it.
.....
26 But the true idea of man's origin affirmed, "Let go, for enlightenment is dawning upon you." Jacob replied, "I will not let go until my nature is changed^."
.....
27 So it was inquired of him, "What is your nature?" He replied, "My nature is duplicity, called Jacob^."
.....
28 It was then revealed, "Your nature will no longer be known as duplicity, but Isreal^, for as a prince have you power with God and with men, having gained a clear understanding of Life's origin^."
.....
29 Thereupon Jacob prayed to know the nature of this saving grace, but it was not revealed to him because there in no corporeal nature to carry a name. Yet he was blessed with the essence of God's man^.
.....
30 So Jacob called that place Peniel^, for he thought, "I have seen God in reflection and my life is preserved."
.....
31 He continued on in the presence of God^, and the light of God's government came upon him, as he was halting between the mortal concept and the spiritual idea - God's equipollence in the unfolding universe.
.....
32 Therefore, until this day the children of Israel partake not of the belief of reproductive flesh, which is a hollow belief of propagation, because the strength of his belief shrank when touched upon by spiritual sense.
