THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
GENESIS 31 GENESIS 31

Jacob heard that Laban's sons were saying, "Jacob has taken away all that was our father's, and from that he has gained all the glory." This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
Also, Jacob saw the face of Laban, discerning that it was not toward him as before. .....
But the divine Mind revealed to Jacob that he should return to the point where his fathers dwell, and the land where his kindred dwell, and that God's presence would be with him. .....
Then Jacob summoned Rachel and Leah to the field where he tended his flock. .....
And he told them, "I see in your father's face impending trouble, but the God of my father is with me." .....
He reminded them, "You know that I have served your father with all my strength. .....
"You also know your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God prevented him from harming me." .....
If he had said, "The speckled cattle will be your wages, then all the cattle born would have been speckled, and if he had said, the striped will be your wages, then all the cattle born would have been striped. .....
"Therefore, divine Principle has given me my wages and adjusted your father's account accordingly. .....
"But at the time the cattle conceived, by inspiration I knew all of this was but a dream of mortal history, and, behold, the rams which mated were striped, speckled, and spotted. .....
"So the thoughts of God came to me regardless of this dream of material life and my nature was declared and I perceived, here is the all-inclusive I-am. .....
"Yet the revelation directed me to lift up my discernment to see all the rams which mate are striped, speckled, and spotted, for the deeds of Laban are before divine Principle. .....
"For the all-inclusive I-am is the God of Beth-el, where inspired thinking became my support and where I committed myself to God; and I saw I must get out of this state of mind and return to a more kindred state." .....
Thereupon Rachel and Leah asked, "Do we have a share in the inheritance of our father? .....
"Does he not treat us as strangers? He has sold us and has taken the gain for himself. .....
"For all the property which we may take away from our father, it is our right to do so for our sake and for the sake of our children; now do whatever you feel God directs you to do." .....
Then Jacob began by setting his sons and wives upon camels; .....
And he carried away all his animals, and all the goods which he had accumulated, including the cattle which he acquired in Padan-aram, and left for the land of Canaan to be with his father, Isaac. .....
Yet while Laban went out to shear the sheep, Rachel went to steal the idols that were her father's. .....
Now Jacob went away unawares to Laban the Syrian as he did not tell him that he intended to flee. .....
So he fled with all that he had rising higher metaphysically to reach an understanding of the covenant^, and set his mind toward the perpetual unfoldment of divine Mind^ while he traveled to the hills of Gilead. .....
On the third day it was revealed to Laban that Jacob had fled. .....
Then taking his kindred with him, he pursued after Jacob on a seven days' journey, overtaking him in the hills of Gilead. .....
During the darkness of his dream of life in matter, it was revealed to Laban the Syrian, "Make sure that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad." .....
Then Laban overtook Jacob; now Jacob had elevated and established his thinking correctly, so Laban, together with his kindred, was set to make an accord with Jacob. .....
Laban asked Jacob, "What have you done that you slipped away unawares to me and have taken my daughters like hostages in war? .....
"Why did you flee away in secret, and with stealth vanish from me, and why did you not explain it to me, that I might have sent you away joyously with songs, with tambourine and with harp? .....
"And why have you not let me kiss my grandchildren and my daughters before they left? You have acted foolishly. .....
"It is in my power to harm you, but the God of your father revealed to me last night that I must not do anything to you, neither good nor bad. .....
"Now, though you need to go, because you surely long for your father's house, yet, why have you taken my household gods?" .....
Then Jacob answered, saying to Laban, "Because I was afraid, for I thought, perhaps you would take your daughters by force from me. .....
"With whomsoever you find your household gods, let him not live; in the presence of our brethren determine what belongs to you, and take it with you." But Jacob did not know that Rachel had taken her father's idols. .....
Thereupon Laban entered Jacob's tent, and Leah's tent, and the two maidservants' tents, but he did not find them. When he left Leah's tent, he entered Rachel's tent. .....
Now Rachel had taken the idols and hid them in the camel's saddle, and set upon them. So Laban searched her entire tent, but he did not find them. .....
Then Rachel said to her father, "Be not displeased, my lord, that I cannot rise up to meet you. It's because of the lunar custom of women." And he searched, but he did not find his household idols. .....
Thereupon Jacob became exasperated and reproved Laban, telling him, "What is my trespass against you? What is my fault that you have pursued me so hotly? .....
"Whereas you have searched all my belongings, and what have you found among my household effects? Set it all here before our brethren that they may judge between us. .....
"For twenty years I have served you; your sheep and your goats have not lost their young and I have not eaten the rams of your flock. .....
"That which was lost to beasts I charged not to you; I carried the loss of it myself; you charged me with whatever was stolen either in the day or night. .....
"In the day, the heat consumed me, and the cold at night, and I could not rest my eyes. .....
"So it was for the twenty years that I have been with you; I worked for fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years for your cattle, and you have changed my wages ten times. .....
"But for the God of my father, who is the God of Abraham, who has been with me, and for the respect of Isaac, surely you would have sent me away with nothing. God has corrected my affliction and rewarded the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night." .....
And Laban answered Jacob, "These are my daughters, and these are my children, and these are my cattle, and all that you see is mine, and what can I do today for my daughters or for their children which they have had? .....
"Come now, let us enter into an agreement and let there stand a witness between us." .....
So Jacob, by taking a stone, set it up as a pillar. .....
Then Jacob told his people, "Gather stones; so they gathered stones to build an heap, and they ate there upon it. .....
In Aramaic words, Laban called it Jegar Shadutha, but in Hebrew words, Jacob called it Galeed. .....
And Laban asserted, "This heap stands as a witness between us this day." Therefore it was called Galeed. .....
It was also known as Mizpah, for he said, "The Lord watch between us, when we are absent from each other. .....
"If you afflict my daughters, or if you take other wives beside my daughters, although we are alone here, keep in mind that God is witness between us." .....
Futhermore, Laban said to Jacob, "Behold this heap and behold this pillar which I have set between us; .....
"Let this heap serve as a witness, and this pillar also, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and that you will not pass over this heap and this pillar to me for any harmful purpose. .....
"The God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us," but Jacob made his vow by the name of his father Isaac and in respect of it. .....
Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and summoned his kindred to break bread; and they did eat bread, remaining all night among the hills. .....
Laban rose up early in the morning to bless his sons and daughters and kiss them. Then Laban left, returning to his own place. .....
