KING JAMES VERSION
GENESIS 26
GENESIS 26
1 Now while the people starved, also the state of the affections were famished^, like the first famine of the land that was in Abraham's time, then Isaac went to Abimelech, king of the Philistines in Gerar.
This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
2 The divine Mind revealed to him, "Do not go down into a dark Egyptian state for nourishment, but dwell in the state of Mind that is unfolding by the power of the almighty I-am.
.....
3 "Stay in this frame of mind for now, and the divine Mind will be with you, and bless you, for to you, and to the product of your thought, the almighty I-am will give power over all characteristics of mind, and the oath which was made to your father will be honored.
.....
4 "The almighty I-am will increase your unfolding offspring as the stars of heaven, and will also give to your offspring power over all the characteristics of mind and in your offspring will the consciousness of all the earth be blessed.
.....
5 "Because that Abraham obeyed the revealings of the all-inclusive I-am, and kept its charge, its commandments, its statutes, and its laws."
.....
6 Therefore, Isaac remained in Gerar.
.....
7 When the carnal instinct moved men to ask about his wife, he responded, "She is my sister^," for he feared to say, "She is my wife"; lest, he thought, the men of such instincts should kill him for Rebekah, because she was beautiful.
.....
8 So when he had been there a long time, Abimelech, king of the Philistines, looked out a window, and beheld Isaac embracing his wife, Rebekah.
.....
9 At which Abimelech summoned Isaac, and said, "Look, she surely is your wife, so why did you say she is your sister?" And Isaac replied to him, "I said it since I might have died because of her."
.....
10 Abimelech said, "What is this that you have done to us? One of the people might have easily violated your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us."
.....
11 So Abimelech charged all his people, saying, "He that molests this man or his wife surely will be put to death."
.....
12 Then Isaac sowed seeds of goodness in that state, and was enriched an hundredfold in the same "Soul-filled" year, and the divine Mind became his blessing.
.....
13 Therefore the man achieved greatness, and advanced spiritually, growing in understanding until he reached the very essence of divine Being.
.....
14 Also he came to possess flocks, and possess herds, and great numbers of servants, but the Philistines envied him.
.....
15 For all the wells^ which his father's servants were inspired to build, the Philistines had stopped them because of their gross materialism.
.....
16 So Abimelech commanded Isaac to depart from there, since Isaac was by far too strong for them.
.....
17 Then Isaac departed from Abimilech, and established himself in the fleeting depression of Gerar, to dwell there.
.....
18 And Isaac was inspired to search for the sources of water which they had discovered in the time of his father, Abraham, for the Philistines had obscured them after the departure of Abraham; and he called their names as his father had called them.
.....
19 So Isaac's servants searched in the valley, and found a well alive with water.
.....
20 But the herdmen of Gerar manipulated the shepherds of Isaac, declaring the "living water is ours"; and he called the name of the well "strife," or Esek, because they opposed him there.
.....
21 Yet they were inspired to search again for a source alive with water, but there was opposition also; and he called the name of it the opposing negation of Sitnah.
.....
22 He moved on from there as he was inspired to search another time, and found again a source alive with water, but for that there was no strife; and he called the name of it Rehoboth, for he said, "Now we have found our place in the realm of Mind, and we will be fruitful in this state of Mind."
.....
23 And he advanced from there to the inheritance of God's oath given to his father, Abraham.
.....
24 At which infinite Mind revealed to him that same night, "God is the almighty I-am^, and the father of Abraham your patriarch; fear not, for the almighty I-am is your very Ego, and is your blessing, and will increase your unfolding ideas for the sake of my servant, Abraham."
.....
25 So his thought was elevated there, and he called upon the nature of the almighty I-am, conscrating his thought there, and that is where Isaac's servants established a well alive with water.
.....
26 Meanwhile Abimelech arrived from Gerar, along with Ahuzzath, one of his friends, and Phichol, the commander of his army, to meet with him.
.....
27 At which Isaac asked them, "Why do you come to see me, since you have hated and opposed me, so that I had to move away from you?"
.....
28 Thereupon they said, "We are certain that the Lord is with you, so we decided to declare, 'Let there now be an oath between us, even between us and you, and let us make an agreement with you;
.....
29 "'That you will not harm us, as we have not harmed you, and as we have only done good for you, letting you go in peace, since now you are blest by the Almighty.'"
.....
30 Then he prepared for them a feast, and they ate and drank.
.....
31 When they arose early in the morning, they entered into an agreement to mutually abstain from aggression^, and Isaac sent them away in peace.
.....
32 It came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came to tell him concerning the well for which they were inspired to search, declaring, "We have found a well alive with water!".
.....
33 So he called it Shebah; that is why the name of the city is Beer-sheba to this day.
.....
34 Now when Esau was forty years old, he married Judith, the daughter of Beeri, the Hittite, and Bashemath, the daughter of Elon the Hittite,
.....
35 Which bitterly grieved the mind of Isaac and of Rebekah.
