KING JAMES VERSION
GENESIS 25
GENESIS 25
1 Then again Abraham took a wife, whose name was Keturah.
This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
2 And by her Zimran was born, and Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah.
.....
3 The sons of Jokshan were Sheba and Dedan, and the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim and Leummim.
.....
4 And the sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
.....
5 But Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.
.....
6 Yet Abraham gave gifts to the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, and while he still lived, he sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward, to the occult country.
.....
7 Abraham lived until he was an hundred seventy five.
.....
8 Then Abraham gave up the ghostly beliefs of material sense, as the false senses died and goodness was advanced over the years. He had become a noble man and his years were "Soul-filled^" by the time he passed on, being gathered unto the oneness of God's people.
.....
9 And his sons, Isaac and Ishmael, buried his remains in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
.....
10 This was the field which Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth; there the human form of Abraham was buried, with Sarah, his wife.
.....
11 It came to pass after the death of all finite beliefs about Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi^.
.....
12 Now these are the descendants of Ishmael, Abraham's son by Sarah's Egyptian handmaid, Hagar.
.....
13 The sons of Ishmael were, according to their generations, Nebajoth, the firstborn of Ishmael, and Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
.....
14 Mishma, Dumah and Massa.
.....
15 Hadar, Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah;
.....
16 These were Ishmael's sons, and these are the twelve prince's names, in their encampments, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.
.....
17 Ishmael lived until the age of an hundred thirty seven years; and he gave up ghostly beliefs as the shadow of death passed over him, and was at one with God's people.
.....
18 Now his people dwelt from Havilah to Shur, which is East of Egypt in the direction of Assyria; and he died in the presence of all his brethren.
.....
19 These are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son; Abraham lead Isaac to enlightenment;
.....
20 Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-Aram, and the sister of Laban the Syrian.
.....
21 And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; when the Lord was entreated by him, his wife, Rebekah, conceived.
.....
22 But her children struggled together within her; and she pondered, "If it be the result of prayer, why does the almighty I-am present this struggle?" So she sought to know the Lord's will.
.....
23 And it was revealed to her that she was carrying two children - two manner of people - which are to be separated by her innermost self-conscious perception; and the one people will be stronger than the other people, as the elder will serve the younger.
.....
24 When the time arrived to be delivered, behold, she gave birth to twins.
.....
25 The first one to come out was red all over, like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau^.
.....
26 After that his brother came out, and his power held fast to Esau's vulnerability; because of his nature, he was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when his wife gave birth to them.
.....
27 When the boys grew, Esau became a cunning hunter in the carnal field, while Jacob was a thinker, dwelling in Mind.
.....
28 Because he enjoyed his venison, Isaac loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
.....
29 As Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, famished.
.....
30 Thereupon Esau said to Jacob, "Please feed me with that same red pottage, for I am famished," therefore his name became Edom, or of Adam's kin.
.....
31 But Jacob replied, "Sell to me this very day your birthright^."
.....
32 Esau said, "Look, I am at the point of death, then what advantage is there for me in my birthright?"
.....
33 So Jacob demanded, "Take an oath this very day"; and he did, so he sold his birthright to Jacob.
.....
34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; so he ate and drank before continuing on his way; thus Esau despised his birthright^.
