| 1 It came to pass after these things that
omnipresent Mind did prove Abraham; when he heard his
name called, Abraham, he responded, "Behold, here is
the only Ego, the only I-am." |
And it came to pass after
these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto
him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.. |
| 2 Then the only I-am revealed to him, "Now
sacrifice the offspring of your very selfhood, your son
and your only joy, Isaac, whom you love, and get into an
high state of Mind to offer there "an offering pure
of Love^", upon the oneness of Mind's high estate of
which I, the only I-am, will unfold to you." |
..And he said, Take now thy son, thine
only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the
land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering
upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. ... |
| 3 Thereupon Abraham rose up early in the
enlightenment of divine Mind, in the morning, and
prepared for his ascent, bringing two youths along with
Isaac his joy, and prepared for the "offering pure
of Love^," rising to the heights of Mind as he had
been led. |
.....And Abraham rose up early in the
morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young
men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for
the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place
of which God had told him. |
| 4 Then of the third day the light of spiritual
understanding entered Abraham's thought, and he lifted up
his spiritual discernment to see the concept afar off. |
.....Then on the third day Abraham lifted
up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. |
| 5 Commanding the youths to abide with their
beast of burden until he returns to them again, Abraham
and the lad entered atonement to worship the Almighty. |
.....And Abraham said unto his young men,
Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go
yonder and worship, and come again to you. |
| 6 And Abraham embraced the ways of "an
offering pure of Love^," illustrating it to Isaac
his son by the purity of his reflected power, and by its
justice; and they both aspired to be at-one with the
almighty I-am. |
.....And Abraham took the wood of the
burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he
took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went
both of them together. |
| 7 But Isaac spoke to Abraham, his Father,
saying, "My father"; replying he said,
"Here am I, at-one with the almighty I-am, my
son," so Isaac asked, "Behold the purity and
its means, but where is the symbol of innocence for 'an
offering pure of love^?'" |
.....And Isaac spake unto Abraham his
father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my
son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where
is the lamb for a burnt offering? |
| 8 Abraham replied, "My son, God will
provide a sign of innocence for a pure offering of
Love"; so they both joined together, at-one with
divine Mind. |
.....And Abraham said, My son, God will
provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went
both of them together. |
| 9 Then they came to the place about which God
had told him; and Abraham built a Jehovistic altar there,
animating it while binding holy devotion to Isaac, his
son, to lay him above the Jehovistic altar. |
.....And they came to the place which God
had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and
laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid
him on the altar upon the wood. |
| 10 And taking hold on to the idea of God as the
only author of Life, Abraham streched forth his hand^, |
.....And Abraham stretched forth his
hand, and took the knife to slay his son. |
| 11 But the harmonious thoughts of the Lord
reached him in concord, calling out, "Abraham,
Abraham"; and he replied, "Here am I." |
.....And the angel of the LORD called
unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and
he said, Here am I. |
| 12 Thereupon the Lord revealed by instinct,
"Lay not any Jehovistic claims upon the lad, neither
do anything to him, for now the almighty I-am has proven
that you revere God, the infinite I-am, seeing you have
not withheld the offspring of your very selfhood, your
only son from me." |
.....And he said, Lay not thine hand upon
the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I
know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld
thy son, thine only son from me. |
| 13 And as Abraham lifted up his discernment, he
beheld behind him a ram caught in a thicket by its horns;
so Abraham took the ram to offer him up instead of his
son. |
.....And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and
looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket
by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and
offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his
son. |
| 14 Abraham called the name of that place
Jehovah-Jireh, or God will provide; as it is said to this
day: in the heights of Mind the providing God will be
understood. |
.....And Abraham called the name of that
place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the
mount of the LORD it shall be seen. |
| 15 From the harmony of Being, the second time
the thoughts of the guiding Mind called unto Abraham, |
.....And the angel of the LORD called
unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, |
| 16 Declaring, "By my own selfhood^ I have
sworn, as revealed by my Spirit, because of this true
devotion of yours, and that you have not withheld the
offspring of your very selfhood, your only son, |
.....And said, By myself have I sworn,
saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing,
and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: |
| 17 "In blessing I, the all-inclusive I-am,
will bless you, and in manifestation of power, I will
multiply your offspring as the stars of the heaven, and
as the sand which is upon the sea shore; your offspring
will master any opposing negation; |
.....That in blessing I will bless thee,
and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars
of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea
shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his
enemies; |
| 18 "In your offspring will all the thinking
of the sphere of thought be blessed, because you have
obeyed the voice of the only Ego, the infinite
I-am." |
.....And in thy seed shall all the
nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed
my voice. |
| 19 So Abraham returned with Lot and his young
men, and they all rose up higher in Spirit going together
to Beer-Sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer-Sheba. |
.....So Abraham returned unto his young
men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and
Abraham dwelt at Beersheba. |
| 20 After these things it came to pass that
Abraham was told, "Behold, Milcah, she also has had
children by your brother Nahor; |
.....And it came to pass after these
things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah,
she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor; |
| 21 "Their firstborn is Huz, and his
brothers are Buz and Kemuel, who is the father of Aram, |
.....Huz his firstborn, and Buz his
brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram, |
| 22 "And Chesed, Hazo, Pidash, Jidlaph and
Bethuel. |
.....And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash,
and Jidlaph, and Bethuel. |
| 23 "And Bethuel has fathered Rebekah; these
eight descendants Milcah had by Nahor, |
.....And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these
eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother. |
| 24 "And Reumah, his concubine, she also had
Tebah, Gaham, Thahash, and Maachah." |
.....And his concubine, whose name was
Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and
Maachah. |
