THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
Exodus 30 Exodus 30
. .
"Out of acacia wood you are to build an altar for burning incense^. This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
"You are to make it foursquare, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high, and make it one piece with its horns. .....
"The top and all the sides and the horns are to be covered with pure gold, and place a gold rim around it. .....
"Now you must make two gold rings for the altar and place them below the rim so that they are on opposite sides. These rings are to hold the shaft used for carrying it. .....
"The shafts should be made out of acacia wood and overlaid with gold. .....
"The altar is to be placed in front of the veil which is before the ark of the testimony and before the symbol of forgiveness that is over the testimony; this is where my communion with you is symbolized. .....
"Every morning, when Aaron tends the lamps, he must burn fragrant incense on the altar. .....
"When he lights the lamps in the evening, he must again burn incense so that it may burn day to day before the Lord for the generations to come. .....
"On this altar you must not make any offering of another kind of incense or any other kind of burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour any other kind of drink offering on it. .....
"Now Aaron must ceremonially make atonement on its horns once each year, and this yearly Day of Atonement must be symbolized with the blood of the ceremonial offering for atonement throughout the generations to come. It is most holy to the Lord." .....
The inner voice directed Moses: .....
"Each Israelite must pay the Lord a ransom for his sake at the time he^ is counted so that no plague may come among them when you number them. .....
"When crossing over to those already counted, each one is to give a half shekel, according to the standard weight, which weighs twenty units. This half shekel^ is an offering to the Lord. .....
"All who cross over to be counted will be more than twenty years old and they are to give this offering to the Lord. .....
"The rich and poor are to give alike; neither will give more nor less than a half shekel when making this offering to the Lord to atone for their souls. .....
"You must take the atonement money from the Israelites and apply it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. It will be a symbolic memorial for the Israelites before the Lord, making atonement for their souls." .....
Moreover, the inner voice directed Moses: .....
"You must provide a brass basin and a brass stand for washing, which should be placed between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and keep water in it. .....
"Aaron and his sons are to use the water from it to wash their hands and feet. .....
"They will wash with water whenever they enter the tabernacle of the congregation and whenever they approach the altar to symbolize an offering to the Lord by purification so that they will not die. .....
"The washing of their hands and feet is to protect them from death, and this practice is to continue as a statue for Aaron and his descendants throughout the generations to come. .....
Then the inner voice continued to direct Moses accordingly: .....
"For anointing oil use these fine spices: two parts of pure myrrh, and one part of fragrant cinnamon, one part of fragrant cane, .....
"Two parts of cassia and four liters of olive oil. Measure everything according to the sanctuary standard. .....
"Blend these into a sacred anointing oil by the work of an apothecary. It is to serve as the holy anointing oil. .....
"Anoint the tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony with it, .....
"And the table and the candlestick along with all their articles, and the altar of incense, .....
"And the altar of burnt offering along with its articles, and the basin along with its stand. .....
"You must sanctify them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches the underlying fact of their symbolic nature will be holy. .....
"You must anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me in the priest's office. .....
"And you must decare to the Israelites, 'Throughout the generations to come this is to be my holy anointing oil. .....
"'You must not pour it out on anyone's body and you must not make any oil composed the same way for any other purpose It is holy, and you are to consider it holy. .....
"'Whoever formulates any oil the same way and uses it on anyone other than a priest cuts himself off from his people.'" .....
Then this is how his inner voice continued to direct Moses, "Blend fragrant spices, gum resin, onycha and galbanum, and pure frankincense, all taken in equal amounts, .....
"And blend a fragrant incense by the hand of an apothecary - blended together to be symbolically pure and holy. .....
"Grind some of it finely and place it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation where I will commune with you. It will be to you symbolically most holy. .....
"You must not blend any incense composed like this one for yourselves; regard it to be symbolically holy to the Lord. .....
"Whoever composes any blend like it for that one's personal enjoyment of its fragrance, the selfsame is cut off from Israel." .....
