THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
Exodus 18 Exodus 18
. .
When Jethro, the priest of Midian and Moses' father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and the people of Israel, and that the Lord had led the children of Israel out of the state of Egyptian bondage, This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, sent for Zipporah, Moses' wife, and she was sent to him, .....
Along with her two sons; Gershom was the name of the one of his sons, for Moses declared: I have been an alien in a strange land; .....
The other son's name was Eliezer, for Moses declared: the God of my father was my help, who delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh. .....
So Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, traveled with Moses' sons and wife to meet him on his journey from magnetism to Soul^, where he encamped at the ascent of holiness. .....
Now Moses received this message from him, "I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons." .....
At which Moses went out to greet his father-in-law, and paid homage to him and kissed him; after they greeted each other, they went into the tent. .....
Then Moses recounted to his father-in-law all that the Lord had directed him to do to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the difficulties they experienced on their way, and how the Lord delivered them. .....
Jethro rejoiced over all the goodness which had been shown to Israel, whom the Lord had delivered from the grasp of Egyptian magnetism. .....
Jethro said, "Blessed be the Lord who delivered Israel out of the magnetic Egyptian influence, out of Pharaoh's influence, and who has delivered his people from under Egyptian bondage. .....
"Now I know that the Lord precludes the exercise of self-will, or false ego; for in the proud exercise of it, he precluded them." .....
And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, sacrificed carnal selfhood for God. So Aaron came with all the leaders of Israel, to partake of divine Science with Moses' father-in-law in the presence of God. .....
Then in the morning Moses acted as judge for the people as they thronged him from the morning until the evening. .....
When Moses' father-in-law saw all that he did for the people, he asked, "What is this that you are doing for the people? Why is it that only you act as judge and let the people throng you from morning until evening? .....
And Moses replied to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire^ about God's laws; .....
"When they have a dispute, they bring it before me, and I judge between one and another, and I teach them God's statutes and laws." .....
So Moses' father-in-law said to him, "The way you are doing it is not wise. .....
"Both you and the people who are with you will be worn out, for this activity is too burdensome for you; you cannot continue to perform it alone. .....
"Now listen to me and I will advise you, and may God grant you wisdom. Be the people's leader to God, so that you might bring their causes to God. .....
"You will teach them divine statues and laws, and will guide them in the way they must go and the work that they must do. .....
"Moreover you must select from all the people capable men, such as revere God, men of truth who eschew vice, and place them over the people as rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. .....
"Now let them serve as judges for the people at all seasons, and it should be that every major question will be brought to you, but every minor matter will be judged by them, so will it be easier for you and they can bear the burden with you. .....
"If you will handle it in this way with God's command, then you will be able to endure^, and all these people can remain at peace." .....
So Moses followed the advice of his father-in-law, and handled all according to what he had said. .....
And Moses chose capable men from all of Israel and appointed them as leaders over the people, leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, and leaders of tens. .....
Then they acted as judges for the people at all seasons; the major cases they brought to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves. .....
Thereafter Moses' father-in-law departed and he returned to his own land. .....
