EXODUS

THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
Exodus 5 Exodus 5
. .
Thereafter Moses and Aaron went to speak to Pharaoh, and said, "The Lord God of Israel demands that my people be released to worship God in solitude." This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord, that I should obey a voice that demands the Israelites be released? I know not this Lord, neither will I release Israel." .....
Then they responded, "The God of the Hebrews is with us; please free us to go to reach spiritual discernment in solitude, and to quench the forbidden longings before our God, the Lord, lest we are plagued, or judged wanting." .....
Thereupon the king of Egypt denounced them, saying, "Wherefore do you, Moses and Aaron, attempt to release the people from their bondage? Get back to your burdens!" .....
Furthermore Pharaoh said, "The people in this state of bondage are many, and you would unburden them." .....
The same day, Pharaoh ordered the slavemasters of the Israelites, and their officers, commanding: .....
"No longer will you give the Israelites straw to make brick, as heretofore; let them gather straw for themselves. .....
"But the same quota of bricks that have been made heretofore, you will require of them; you must not reduce it, for they are idle; that is why they cry, 'Let us go and sacrifice to our God.' .....
"Let more work be laid upon the men so that they may labour without rest, and let them not listen to lies." .....
Then the slavemasters of the Israelites went out with their officers, and they addressed the Israelites, saying: "The Pharaoh has ordered that he will not provide you straw. .....
"Get your straw where you can find it, but do not reduce the amount of your work." .....
So the people searched the land of Egypt for stubble instead of straw. .....
And the slavemasters rushed them to fulfil their daily quota, as before when they had straw. .....
But the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh's slavemasters had set over them, were punished and it was demanded of them, "Why are you not fulfilling your quota in making brick as before?" .....
Thereupon the officers of the children of Israel appeared before Pharaoh, and cried, saying, "Why do you treat your servants in this way? .....
"There is no straw provided for your servants, and we are ordered to make brick, and, behold, your servants are beaten, but the fault lies with your own people." .....
Now he replied, "You are idle, or you are lazy, that is why you demand to be released to worship your Lord. .....
"Therefore, leave me so you can work; yet no straw will be provided for you and you must fulfil your quota of bricks." .....
Then the leaders of the Israelites knew that they were being harassed, after it was decreed, "You must not fail to meet your daily quota." .....
As they finished speaking to Pharaoh, they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way. .....
So they said to them, "May your ways be known to the Lord and be judged, because you have turned Pharaoh against us, as well as his servants, and have placed a sword in their hand to kill us." .....
Now Moses returned to the Lord and asked, "Lord, wherefore have you so badly treated your people? And for what reason have you sent me? .....
"Since I came to Pharaoh, speaking for our divine rights, he has only returned evil to your people; neither have you delivered your people at all." .....
