THE MELCHIZEDEK BIBLE KING JAMES VERSION
Exodus 2 Exodus 2
. .
There was a man, a descendant of Levi^, who married a Levite woman^. This part of KING JAMES VERSION will be added later on.
Now the woman conceived, giving birth to a son; when she saw that he was an outstanding child, she hid him three months^. .....
But when she could no longer hide him from the aggressive Egyptians, she placed him in a papyrus basket coated with tar and pitch, and set him along the banks of the Nile in the reeds. .....
And his sister^ stood at a distance to see what would happen to him. .....
As the daughter of Pharaoh was ceremoniously washing at the river, her servants walked by her at the river's bank; and when she saw the basket among the reeds, she sent a servant to fetch it. .....
When she opened it, she saw the child, and the babe wept. So she had compassion on him and said, "This is a Hebrew child." .....
Then, coming to her, his sister asked Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I bring one of the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you?" .....
Pharaoh's daughter replied, "Yes." And his sister went and brought the child's mother. .....
Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Take this babe with you and nurse it for me, and I will pay you." .....
The child grew, and his mother brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. She called his name Moses^, because, she said, "I drew him out of the flow of water." .....
It came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out among his brethren and witnessed their bondage; there he saw an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of the children of Israel^. .....
So he looked about, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and concealed him in the sand. .....
When he went out the next day, he beheld two Hebrews fighting and he asked the one that was in the wrong, "Wherefore do you strike your fellow man?" .....
He responded, "Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me like you did the Egyptian?" So Moses fearfully thought, "Surely this matter is known." .....
Now when Pharaoh heard about it, he determined to execute Moses. However, Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh to dwell in the land of Midian^, where he reposed by a fountainhead^. .....
Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters who came to draw water to fill the troughs for watering their father's flock. .....
But the shepherds came and drove them away, so Moses stood up for them and helped them water their father's flock. .....
When they came to Reuel, the shepherd, he said, "How is it that you have returned so early today?" .....
They replied, "An Egyptian protected us from an assault of the shepherds, and he also drew water enough for us to water our flock." .....
Then he asked his daughters, "And where is he? Why is it that you have left that man? Call him so that he may eat bread with us." .....
So Moses was content to dwell with this friend of God who gave Moses his daughter, Zipporah, in marriage. .....
Thereafter she gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom: for he declared, I have been a stranger in an unfamiliar land. .....
In process of time, it happened that the king of Egypt died and the children of Israel sighed under the influence of Egyptian necromancy, so they wept, but their protest reached the Almighty by reason of their bondage. .....
God bestowed healing on them for their plight, according to the covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. .....
Thereby, God discerned Israel's children, and regarded them. .....
